Grand Stage AV System

Helping a Small Business with Budget-Friendly Equipment Upgrades

Grand Stage Company was founded in 1947 to provide quality lighting equipment to the theatrical community of the Midwest and has since expanded its product range to include lighting consumables, scenic materials, special FX and theatrical rigging and drapery. Since its beginning, Grand Stage has been a family owned and operated business continuing into its fourth generation. Chicago Spotlight has grown over the last 30 years from a firm specializing in follow spot service and rental into a turn-key systems integrator of the latest in stage lighting and rigging equipment. Known for its 24-hour emergency pager, Chicago Spotlight remains focused on customer satisfaction.

Grand Stage/Chicago Spotlight wanted to add a conference room with a fully installed AV System to its Chicago headquarters, but cost was an issue for the small business.

With a maximum budget of only $10,000 for the entire AV system, a touch-panel AV control system was out of the company’s price range. Level-1 worked with Grand Stage to find a solution that fit their budget by sourcing a ceiling-mounted video projector and media player controlled with the device’s factory-supplied infrared remote controls. Sound is reproduced through two wall-mounted speakers that flank the screen on the front wall of the new conference room. For delivering presentations, a wall plate at the front of the room accommodates connection to a laptop computer. Level-1 provided a fully installed solution at well below their budget.
