Two of the Midwest's Leading IT Firms Join Forces to Offer Fully Integrated Smart Services

(Chicago, IL, February 1, 2020) Level-1 Global Solutions and BCL IT Consulting today announced the establishment of a joint venture to deliver world-class technology infrastructure and design services with unmatched quality, security and performance to better meet the needs of large-scale, design-build, public/private infrastructure projects in the Midwest region.

Level-1 Global Solutions, an African American-owned/certified minority business enterprise, is Chicago's leading mission-critical IT systems integrator. BCL IT Consulting, a certified women business enterprise, is Cincinnati’s top IT and security designer.

Level-1 leverages 20+ years of experience integrating mission-critical hardware, software and network infrastructure systems with BCL’s 25 years of design and engineering experience to provide a smarter, more complete set of IT services and create environments that are optimized for the future. Level-1 has installed interoperable IT systems that power some of the most renowned landmarks in the world and BCL has built a national reputation for their innovative, future-thinking strategies for the built environment.

This joint venture enables public and private sector clients to select a sole MBE/WBE contractor to design, implement and manage interoperable technology infrastructure systems for smart building construction and other mission-critical IT infrastructure improvement works.

"Government agencies have been encouraging minority-certified firms to team up to expedite growth for their small businesses for a long time," said Thomas D. McElroy II, CEO and Principal of Level-1 Global Solutions. "This partnership is a win for both of us in that sense, as well as for the industries we serve by creating an 'all-in-one' shop for cutting edge IT and design professional services. BCL's expertise setting building design standards greatly expands our capacity to take on the most complex and challenging IT systems integration and design build projects out there. Much of what BCL does already informs what we do and vice-versa, so this merger makes our integrated design and technology systems implementation process even more seamless."

"Level-1's knowledge of the regional market, experience with local public/private partnerships and longstanding reputation as a reliable IT systems integration provider boosts our qualifications as a prime IT sub-consultant and contractor for design-build projects in the area," said Christy Miller, CEO and President of BCL IT Consulting. "Our skillsets are intertwined and at our core we both care deeply about IT infrastructure and design innovations that change lives and make a positive impact on the communities we serve, making this the perfect marriage."

The Level-1/BCL joint venture has already been in successful practice on several high-profile projects in the Chicagoland area, including Lincoln Yards, Michael Reese and the Cook County Department of Capital Planning.

Level-1 Global Solutions designs, implements and manages interoperable technology infrastructure systems for federal, state and local governments; educational institutions; healthcare centers; the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; military operations; air transport providers; rail systems; port authorities; public safety and law-enforcement agencies; architects and interior designers; and commercial real estate managers, developers and property owners.

BCL IT Consulting collaborates with architectural design teams and their partners to create integrated technology systems and specializes in IT planning, design, engineering and construction management. BCL's proven expertise serves a diverse group of regional and national clients by helping them explore and expand their design parameters to create change-resilient enterprises in the built environment.
