NBA All Star Weekend IT Network Administration & Support

In February 2020, Chicago played host to the NBA All-Star Weekend, a nationally televised three-day celebration of basketball culture, athletic excellence, and entertainment. From the celebrity game to the Slam Dunk Contest and culminating in the all-star game itself, the event drew tens of thousands of visitors and international media coverage making it one of the highest-profile live events in the country. 

Level-1 Global Solutions was selected by the NBA to support, install, and manage the communications and IT systems required to support secure operations, broadcasting, and connectivity across multiple venues. Working under strict security and non-disclosure protocols, our team enabled uninterrupted digital operations at Wintrust Arena, the United Center, McCormick Place, Navy Pier, and partner hotels including the Westin, Hyatt Regency, and Marriott. 

Operating in environments where timing, privacy, and performance were paramount, Level-1 deployed its Extended Sourcing Solutions™ team of IT professionals to administer VoIP infrastructure, configure secure networks, and provide responsive on-site network and technical support for over 500 NBA staff and media personnel. The solution not only accommodated high user density and bandwidth demands but also supported coordination among federal, state and local public safety security agencies. 

This engagement is part of an ongoing, multi-year agreement with the NBA to deliver IT and network support for All-Star events. Following Chicago, Level-1 supported the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, and the partnership continues with future host cities to ensure seamless, secure, and high-performance technology infrastructure for one of sports’ most visible global showcases.
