Local Business Owner Thomas McElroy uses Leading Edge Technology to design Chicago build out of McCormick Place Alternate Care Facility

(MAY 11 – CHICAGO) With the COVID peak predicted to be most rampant in mid-May, local small business, Level-1 Global Solutions, shares how critical designing the right technology for the McCormick alternate care facility buildout was – not only for the patients but for Chicago. They are just one of the expert Chicago companies responsible for designing the intricate technology infrastructure for the city in preparation for the peak. Thomas McElroy, Principal of Level-1 Global Solutions, was selected by city leaders last month to help provide the technology behind the intake stations, patient rooms, healthcare provider devises and HIPPA compliant security in the newly created McCormick center healthcare facility. In less than five days, Level-1 Global Solutions and local partners were able to design and implement the technology for the more than 3,000 patients the healthcare facility will potentially house, a fraction of a typical multi-month-long process in the healthcare world.

“As a small business, we were both humbled and inspired by the city’s invitation to design the tech infrastructure rollout for the McCormick Place Alternate Care Facility in preparation for Chicago’s COVID peak alongside Stratosphere Networks,” says Thomas McElroy, principal of Level-1 Global Solutions. “It was our mission to provide this facility with a reliable, mission-critical technology that could endure an intense rush of patients and provide stability for healthcare workers.”

With a one-week turnaround time, the advanced technology was expected to run on day one as seamlessly as RUSH hospital’s infrastructure. From keeping patient information private, to seamless connection between healthcare team workstations and devices, and securing how communication would happen in and outside of the facility, every piece of the technology required critical assessment to ensure it was safe and secure. “Our more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and technology enabled us to see the critical gaps that needed to be covered in this one-of-a-kind environment, shared Elijah King, Level-1’s Chief Technology Officer.

Level-1 Global Solutions designs, implements, and manages interoperable technology infrastructure systems for federal, state and local governments; educational institutions; healthcare centers; Department of Homeland Security; military operations; air transport providers; rail systems; port authorities; public safety and law-enforcement agencies; architects and interior designers; and commercial real estate managers and property owners. We combine information, security, operations and facilities management to support mission-critical systems in highly sensitive, asset-intensive areas in the public and private sectors.
