Designing the digital foundations of the 21st-century built environment.
For more than two decades, Level-1 Global Solutions has helped shape how cities, campuses, and civic institutions connect, communicate, and perform. Founded in Chicago in 2001, Level-1 began as a mission-critical systems integrator and has evolved into a multidisciplinary technology infrastructure and engineering firm, designing and delivering the systems that make buildings and cities intelligent, resilient, and future-ready.
At the intersection of architecture, engineering, and emerging technology, we see infrastructure not as background but as the framework that defines how people experience place. From fiber networks and building automation to quantum-secure communications and digital twin environments, Level-1 designs technology ecosystems that endure such that performance and design work in unison. Our work is built around interoperability, the idea that buildings are no longer isolated objects but connected participants in larger digital and civic ecosystems.
This approach defines our philosophy of convergence. Every system, whether network, audiovisual, security, or life safety, is part of a single digital ecosystem. By integrating design, engineering, commissioning and operations into one continuum, we eliminate the fragmentation that has long limited how technology performs in the built world. Our teams move fluidly from strategic advisory and master planning through engineering design, implementation, and long-term sustainment, ensuring that performance is measured not only in uptime but in human impact. This holistic capability allows us to move seamlessly between concept and execution, ensuring every system we design is not only visionary in intent but flawless in performance.
Our portfolio reflects both the scale and complexity of this mission. We work on infrastructure systems that anchor entire districts- airports, sports arenas, healthcare and research campuses, government centers, and large-scale cultural destinations while also advancing neighborhood-scale and community-focused projects in affordable-housing, eductaion and local development. Guiding this work are five pillars that define our areas of focus: Smart Urbanism, Public Safety and Resilience, Intelligent Mobility & Infrastructure, Experiential Environments, and Adaptive Reuse. Together, they form the framework through which we design technology that strengthens urban systems, enhances human experience, and extends the life and intelligence of the built environment.
Looking ahead, our Quantum Infrastructure Plan defines how the next era of connectivity will be built. It establishes a framework for the ultra-secure, low-latency, high-bandwidth networks required for advanced computation. Here, infrastructure becomes spatial geometry: fibers as pathways of information, buildings as data nodes, and cities as living computational systems. The work anticipates not just new technologies but new relationships between design, information, and urban intelligence.
We believe the next century of architecture will be defined by the quality of its technological infrastructure. The architects who shape tomorrow’s cities will need partners fluent in both construction and computation and that is where Level-1 comes into play, designing the connective tissue of buildings and cities so that form and function, network and structure, human and system, all work as one.
