Engineering Design

Translating systems into architecture, and architecture into systems.

In any building, the infrastructure you don’t see is just as critical as the design you do. Behind seamless user experiences there are carefully engineered layers of communication, control, and connectivity. At Level-1, our Engineering Design services turn complex technological requirements into precisely integrated systems that support how buildings operate, evolve, and serve the people within them.

We approach engineering as part of the architectural story and not just as an afterthought. From fiber paths to AV integration, our work complements the spatial logic while enabling performance at scale. Through our engineering services we translate design intent into infrastructure that fits, functions, and lasts. Our work includes low-voltage systems, structured cabling, data and communications rooms, wireless, AV, DAS, and conditioned power integration. We also design for Outside Plant (OSP) environments, applying BICSI standards for single-mode and multi-mode fiber that traverse aerial, direct-buried, underground, or conduit pathways. But it’s the way we coordinate them that sets us apart.

BICSI, WiredScore and SmartScore standards guide many of the engineering decisions we make from telecom room location and redundancy planning to system scalability, helping ensure our designs can qualify for certification while standing up to long-term operational demands.

Our work starts early, when infrastructure can still be a design decision, not a course correction. We collaborate with architects and consultants to shape technology systems that feel native to the building. We understand what it means to detail a telecom room next to a stairwell, route conduits past fire-rated walls, or how a poorly placed AV drop affects ceiling design. We’re not here to re-route your design vision. We’re here to reinforce it with engineered systems that match your program, respect your priorities, and support every phase from schematic through handover. This means fewer surprises during procurement, RFIs, change orders during construction, clearer layouts, redundant serviceable pathways and being able to uphold the designer’s vision even as technical requirements evolve. As for us, good engineering means when it’s built to support the architecture, not in conflict with it.

We engineer for what happens after occupancy too. When something needs to be replaced, scaled, or reconfigured five years from now, the infrastructure will be ready for it because that’s what true integration looks like.

With us, you can
Embed technology from day one – avoiding late-stage clashes, improving serviceability, and preserving design intent.
Streamline complexity – simplify vendor coordination, reduce system collisions, and ensure spatial efficiency.
Design for continuity – build environments that adapt to changing standards and user needs.
