Level-1 delivered full-spectrum IT infrastructure support across CPD’s district stations, enabling operational readiness at city scale.
The Chicago Police Department (CPD) stands as the second-largest municipal police force in the country, with over 12,000 sworn officers and nearly 2,000 civilian employees protecting the lives and safety of the city’s residents. CPD operates 22 official district stations and a number of specialized units, including Marine & Helicopter Operations, Canine, Bomb Squad, SWAT, and Mounted Patrol. As CPD continues to modernize its systems to meet the growing demands of public safety and digital policing, Level-1 Global Solutions was called upon to provide comprehensive district-wide IT infrastructure services.
We have already twice upgraded technology systems at all 22 district locations over the course of our engagement. These repeat deployments reflect both the scale of CPD’s evolving needs and the department’s commitment to ensuring that its officers and staff have access to reliable, up-to-date IT systems citywide.
Working as a subcontractor to Dell Technologies, Level-1 deployed expert technical support across all CPD locations, delivering services that spanned network upgrades, server and desktop software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and storage infrastructure enhancement. The objective was to equip CPD with reliable, secure, and scalable systems that enable uninterrupted operations and fast response across its districts.
Our scope of work included hands-on support for critical infrastructure and IP-connected devices, implementation of data storage enhancements, desktop-to-data center troubleshooting and post-installation support through its Extended Sourcing Solutions® (ESS®). Thus, providing CPD with responsive Day 2 services, including system monitoring, technical troubleshooting, issue resolution, and ongoing performance optimization tailored to mission-critical law enforcement environments. With each installation, Level-1 also ensured proper documentation, reporting, and long-term sustainability planning.

- Troubleshooting and configuration for IP-based devices, including cameras and access systems
- Installation and implementation of additional disk enclosures into Dell SC Series Storage Area Network (SAN)
- Upgrades and optimization of storage controllers to ensure system performance and data integrity
- Project design, documentation, and reporting for consistent oversight and technical transparency
- Partnership-based delivery model under Dell, ensuring seamless integration with broader modernization efforts
- Desktop deployments across all CPD district offices, including delivery, imaging, setup, asset tagging, end-user device configuration, and on-site testing
