Malcolm X College Integrated A/V System

Level-1 designed and implemented a campus-wide AV system at Malcolm X College, empowering immersive learning and healthcare training.

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is Illinois’ largest community college system and one of the most expansive in the country, serving over 77,000 students annually across seven colleges and five satellite campuses. A central driver of workforce development in the region, CCC launched a $524 million capital plan to transform its campuses and programs in line with industry needs.

At the heart of this transformation was Malcolm X College (MXC), CCC’s healthcare education hub on Chicago’s West Side. In 2016, MXC opened its new $251 million, 544,000-square-foot campus featuring a cutting-edge School of Health Sciences and a virtual hospital that replicates real-world clinical settings. Designed with input from CCC’s C2C (College to Careers) healthcare partners and faculty, the new facility offers integrated learning environments for didactic instruction and hands-on training, tailored to produce work-ready healthcare professionals.

Level‑1 Global Solutions was selected as the local MBE partner to implement an integrated audio/visual infrastructure for the new MXC campus. Our work supported CCC’s vision to fuse learning, technology, and professional preparation in a seamless environment.
