Thompson Center Renovation

Providing connectivity and infrastructure for the renewal of an iconic Chicago building

Level-1 is pleased to engage with Prime Group on the renovation of Chicago’s iconic Thompson Center. This 36-year-old Helmut Jahn-designed building has a soaring atrium and generous public space. Level-1 is designing the backbone connectivity and infrastructure for technology. The team’s real technical challenge is the demolishing of existing systems while requiring the new single-mode fiber-optic backbone to parallel the existing fiber backbone infrastructure until which time, the new system can be used to migrate the existing tenants. There is a variety of temporary infrastructure on the horizontal connectivity that will be leveraged while demolition and construction commence.
