Saint Anthony Hospital
Level‑1 is designing the full technology backbone for the new Saint Anthony Hospital, powering a next‑generation healthcare and community campus on Chicago’s southwest side.
Chicago’s southwest side is poised for a transformation. On a 30‑acre site at 31st Street and Kedzie Avenue formerly home to the Washburne Trade School the Saint Anthony Hospital anchors the ambitious Focal Point Community Campus: a mixed‑use development that brings healthcare, wellness, community services, and modern infrastructure to a long‑underserved area. The campus will feature a new 126‑bed (replacement) hospital, a Medical Office Building, an Ambulatory Surgical Center, structured parking, and significant site and infrastructure upgrades designed to serve tens of thousands of residents on Chicago’s southwest side.
As planning advances, Level‑1 Global Solutions has been engaged to provide full‑life‑cycle technical systems design for low‑voltage, communications, audiovisual, security, and healthcare‑grade technology infrastructure. Our work ensures the campus is built with the connectivity, safety, and resilience required of a modern community hospital and mixed‑use campus enabling clinical operations, community services, and future growth to proceed on a unified technical backbone.
Our Scope Includes
- Low‑voltage systems design including fire alarm and detection (FAS), lighting control, and environmental/refrigeration alarm monitoring systems for labs and pharmacy areas
- Structured cabling and IT communications infrastructure including horizontal/vertical distribution cabling, main telecom entrance (MPOE), IDF/MDF layout, and design of wireless LAN for staff, patients, and visitors
- Audiovisual systems design covering patient rooms, public areas, clinical zones, administrative and meeting spaces supporting wayfinding, paging, digital signage, videoconferencing, patient entertainment and information delivery
- Electronic security systems design including access control, high‑resolution video surveillance, intrusion detection, duress/panic systems, and infant/wandering‑patient protection systems with architectural coordination to ensure secure, code‑compliant flow of staff, patients, and visitors
- Healthcare technology systems planning defining low‑voltage pathways and infrastructure for nurse‑call systems, Code Blue, RFID/RTLS, telemedicine infrastructure, EHR/PACS readiness, and other clinical system support
- Design‑phase coordination, permit documentation support, submittal review, design validation, and field‑verification / quality‑control planning to coordinate with architects, mechanical/electrical contractors, and clinical stakeholders
With a history of delivering high‑complexity IT, AV, and security infrastructure across healthcare and public‑sector facilities, Level‑1 brings a unique blend of technical rigor and practical insight. Our prior work includes full‑scale system design for trauma hospitals, jail and correction‑health facilities, and large-scale public safety and education campuses. This experience ensures that our designs for Saint Anthony Hospital anticipate operational demands, patient safety requirements, and long‑term maintainability.
As Focal Point moves toward construction, Level‑1 is ready to transform design documents into real‑world infrastructure equipping the hospital and community campus with systems that foster safety, connectivity, and equitable access to quality healthcare and services.
