State Comptroller State of Illinois 115 S. LaSalle Redesign
Level-1 delivered secure network, AV, and security systems for the Illinois State Comptroller at 115 S. LaSalle, enabling resilient and transparent financial governance.
Originally housed in disparate locations across Springfield and Chicago, the Illinois Office of the Comptroller required a future-forward environment to match the pace, scrutiny, and precision of modern public finance. The relocation to 115 South LaSalle Street, Chicago’s flagship for state agency consolidation, offered an opportunity to reimagine how fiscal operations, security, and transparency could be supported by technology. Given the Comptroller’s constitutional role in managing the State’s accounts, vendor payments, payroll, and public reporting, the technology infrastructure needed to deliver exceptional performance, uncompromising integrity, and institutional resilience.
Level-1 Global Solutions was brought on as the developer’s low-voltage technology partner to design and implement a comprehensive infrastructure capable of sustaining these mission-critical functions. With extensive experience serving public-sector clients in highly regulated environments, we engineered a system built not only to support daily operations but to protect the infrastructure framework of Illinois’ financial governance.
We created segmented networks that isolate sensitive systems, track performance metrics, and withstand operational shocks. Every endpoint from budget analyst desks to interdepartmental collaboration spaces was planned for speed, auditability, and system longevity.
We Designed Infrastructure for
- Implementation of secure structured cabling (Cat6A) across all office and data environments
- Segmented network architecture and firewalled VLANs tailored for payroll, vendor payment, and public disclosure workflows
- Conference room AV systems supporting real-time fiscal reporting, inter-office collaboration, and remote stakeholder engagement
- Wireless access points and DAS coverage ensuring secure, high-performance mobility across floors
- Audiovisual systems for data visualization, public briefings, and interagency collaboration across sites
- Physical access control zones protecting server rooms, payroll processing hubs, and financial data archives
- CJIS and NFPA 72 standards for government-grade security and operational continuity
- Design and construction phase oversight aligned with the Office of Capital Development’s commissioning and reporting protocols
By aligning the Comptroller’s digital infrastructure with the accountability embedded in its constitutional mission, Level-1 reinforced the State’s financial nerve center with technology that supports trust, transparency, and uninterrupted fiscal stewardship. As Illinois charts the future of digital governance, the Comptroller’s new home at 115 S. LaSalle now operates on a secure, scalable infrastructure designed to meet the demands of 21st-century public finance.
